couldn't post yesterday, because I did not have a computer. in fact, i did not have a job. that's right, I was unemployed for the weekend. should have filed for some kind of unemployment benefits. well, now I have a brand-spankin-new macbook pro. if really is so intuitive - it's probably just that my intuition has been retarded over the past decade of using a pc.
i like the new job, and i love the train ride and the walk. there's a great grocer in hyde park where i can pick up good cheeses and unusual fruits and veggies for cooking when i get home. there's also a smell that reminds me of hungary - i've noticed it more than once, so i imagine it's always there. i have to get some furniture for my office, which is entirely empty at this point. maybe i'll just get a turkish rug and a hookah pipe and hang out on the floor (with my mac).
my girl Jo is off to college on thursday. wow, never thought i'd be saying that. well, i wish her all the best - but no luck, because i don't believe in luck and i don't think she needs any. just need so relax a bit and enjoy the ride. you don't have to get their first to win the prize - which is the trip itself.
going to colorado on wednesday for laura's best friend's adopted tanzanian baby's christening. lots of babies in my life these days. maybe i'm getting my chance to practice being a grandfather. (don't get any ideas, Jo).
